I. Understanding Translation History
Translation History automatically captures every successful translation you create, regardless of which translation engine or payment method you use. This comprehensive backup system ensures you never lose valuable translation work.
What Gets Saved:
- Successful translations using any engine (OpenAI, Google, DeepL, etc.)
- Both API key and pay-per-use translation methods
- Complete translation content with timestamps
What Doesn't Get Saved:
- Failed translations due to errors
- Canceled processes before completion
- Incomplete translation attempts
II. Viewing Your Translation History
Access your complete translation timeline through the dedicated Translation History interface:
NavigateTranslation → Edit translation (pencil) → click into your translation→ on the bottom left corner of the box will have Version history (look like a clock)
Each Version Shows:
- Translation Tool: Which engine was used (OpenAI, Baidu, Google, etc.)
- Timestamp: Exact date and time of completion (e.g., 05/03/2025, 14:30)
- Version Number: Easy identification of each backup

III. Backup Storage by Plan
Your backup storage automatically adjusts based on your Transcy plan:
Basic Plan:
- Current version + 1 backup version
- New backup replaces the previous one
Growth Plan:
- Current version + 2 backup versions
- Oldest backup deleted when limit exceeded
Premium Plan:
- Current version + 3 backup versions
- Maintains 3 most recent backups
Enterprise Plan:
- Current version + 3 backup versions
- Maximum backup protection included
Example Storage Flow:
→ Day 1: Create Version 1 (saved as backup)
→ Day 2: Create Version 2 (both V1 and V2 saved)
→ Day 5: Create Version 4 (V1 deleted, keeping V2, V3, V4)
→ Day 6: Translation error occurs (no new backup created)
IV. Reverting to Previous Translations
Easily restore any previous translation version with the Revert function:
How Revert Works:
→ Select the version you want to restore
→ Click "Use this version" in the Translation History
→ Chosen version becomes current translation
→ Previous current version moves to backup history
Example Revert Process:
If you have versions V1, V2, V3 in history and V4 as current:
- Choose Revert V2
- V2 becomes your current translation
- History updates to: V4, V3, V1 (in chronological order)
- Your usage quota remains unchanged
V. Important Scenarios
1. External App Overwrites
Protection Against Third-Party Changes:
When external apps (like Translate&Adapt) sync translations to Transcy:
→ Current translation automatically backed up before overwrite
→ External translation becomes current version
→ Your original work remains safe in backup history
→ Easy restoration if you prefer your previous version
2. Plan Changes
Downgrading Your Plan:
When you downgrade (e.g., Premium to Growth):
- Excess backups are removed (oldest versions deleted first)
- Most recent backups preserved according to new plan limits
- Current version always protected
Example: Premium (3 backups) → Growth (2 backups)
- Keeps: Current + 2 most recent backups
- Removes: Oldest backup version
3. App Uninstallation
Data Retention Policy:
- 90-day storage after app removal
- Full recovery possible within retention period
- Complete translation history preserved during grace period
