Activate Transcy Switcher on your store through Theme Editor

Ready to show your Transcy language and currency switcher to customers? This guide will walk you through enabling the App embed blocks in your Shopify theme so visitors can easily switch languages and currencies on your store.


Transcy's switcher works seamlessly with all modern Online Shopify themes. Following Shopify's guidelines, you'll need to activate the switcher through your Theme Editor to make it visible on your storefront.

I. Understanding App Embed Blocks


App embed blocks are Shopify's way of letting apps add features directly to your theme. Think of them as building blocks that bring app functionality - like Transcy's language and currency switcher - right into your store design.


These blocks can include product reviews, pricing displays, ratings, or in Transcy's case, your multilingual switcher. You can easily manage them through Shopify's Theme Editor - adding, removing, or customizing as needed.


II. Quick Activation from Transcy App


The fastest way to activate your switcher:


  1. Go to the Switcher menu inside your Transcy app
  2. Follow the activation instructions shown there
  3. Click the direct link provided - it takes you straight to the Theme Editor
  4. The Transcy App embed toggle is already enabled
  5. Simply hit Save to complete the process

III. Manual Activation Steps


1. Desktop Instructions


  1. From your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store → Themes
  2. Find your active theme and click Customize
  3. Click the App embeds tab
  4. Toggle ON the Transcy app embed
  5. Click Save


2. Mobile Instructions


  1. Open the Shopify app and tap Store
  2. In Sales channels, tap Online Store
  3. Tap Manage themes
  4. Find your theme and tap Customize
  5. Click the App embeds tab
  6. Toggle ON the Transcy embed
  7. Click Save

Important: After activation, double-check your switcher visibility settings in the Transcy app. You can choose between:

  • Only admin mode (visible only to you)
  • Everyone mode (visible to all store visitors)


To deactivate the switcher, simply follow the same steps and toggle OFF, then click Save.


Good to know:


When you uninstall Transcy, the app embed block associated with Transcy will be automatically and entirely removed from online store themes
