# FAQ: If I buy a larger quota extension, does it add to the one I already have?

**Short answer: no.** Extension packages do not stack. Your total is:

> **your plan's base quota** + **the one extension package you currently hold**

Buying a larger package **replaces** the one you had; it does not add to it.

## Example

On a **Regional** plan, the base is **200 products**.

| What you do | Your total |
| --- | --- |
| Start on Regional | 200 |
| Add the **+250** package | 200 + 250 = **450** |
| Later switch to the **+1,000** package | 200 + 1,000 = **1,200** |

That last figure is **1,200**, not 1,450. The +250 package is no longer active once you move to +1,000.

## What this means when you plan ahead

**→ Pick the package by the total you need, not by the gap you are short.**

If you are on Regional with the +250 package (450 total) and you now need 1,000 products, do not look for a "+550" package. Work out the total you want, subtract your plan's base, and choose the package that covers the rest.

|| Languages and currencies cannot be extended at all. If you need more of those, the only route is a higher plan.

## If you no longer need an extension

You can remove it — see [How do I remove extent quota from my plan?](https://help.transcy.io/en/article/faq-how-do-i-remove-extent-quota-from-my-plan-3k5xgq/)

## Cost

You are billed the price of the package you currently hold, on a monthly basis. Moving to a different package changes that line to the new package's price — you are not billed for both.
