# FAQ: Plan Downgrade Behavior in Transcy

*When you downgrade to a lower-tier plan in Transcy, your language quotas decrease, and all published languages are unpublished. This guide explains what to expect and how to republish after a downgrade.*

## What Happens When You Downgrade
All currently published languages are automatically unpublished and will no longer appear on your storefront
* All translation data created before the downgrade is preserved in Transcy — nothing is deleted
* You will need to manually republish languages within your new plan's quota limits

## How to Republish After Downgrade
### Editable language Slots
Editable is an upgraded tier of non-editable. An editable slot can be used for any language regardless of translation history, and you can choose whether to actively edit its translations or leave it as-is. You are limited to the editable count of your new plan.
* **Example:** Downgrading from Continental (10 editable) to Regional (2 editable) means you can publish any 2 languages in editable slots — previously edited languages, brand new ones, or a mix of both

### Non-Editable language Slots
Non-editable slots are more restricted — they can only be used for languages that have no translation data in Transcy, and translations cannot be edited.
* **Example:** If German and French had no translations on Continental, either can fill the Regional non-editable slot after downgrade

## Important Notes
* Unpublished languages remain invisible on your storefront until manually republished
* Translation data for languages that exceed your new quota is preserved — you can access it again by upgrading
* If you upgrade your plan, your currently published languages remain unchanged
