# How to Translate and Manage URL Handle in app with Transcy

Since June 26, 2023, **Shopify** has enhanced its platform by supporting and providing APIs for third-party translation apps like **Transcy** to manually enter translations for URL handles. This powerful feature allows you to display different URL versions to customers across various languages, creating a truly localized shopping experience.

## Why translate your Shopify store's URL handles?

Imagine transforming your generic product URL from "ABC.com/products/red-shoes" into language-specific versions like "ABC.com/en/products/red-shoes" or "ABC.com/fr/products/chaussures-rouges". With **Transcy**, you can effortlessly translate and manage URL handle translations, making your store more accessible and search-engine friendly for international customers.

## Which URL handle can you translate?

**Transcy** supports URL handle translations for:

## How to translate Shopify URL handles with Transcy?

Setting up translated URL handles is straightforward with **Transcy**. Simply access the URL translation feature in your app dashboard and start customizing your URLs for each target language.

First of all, always remember to unblock Transcy's URL handle translation. Simply follow these step: 
Go to **"Content translation"** menu in Transcy → Click **"Translation Rule" tab →** Select **"Blocked element" →** Toggle off URL handle to make"**URL handle**" available.

After unblock URL handle for translation, you can easily manage your URL translation as shown in the screenshot below:

|| default URL and target URL should be different to maximize SEO benefits. If they're identical, Transcy will automatically append the language code to your URL (e.g., "water-dispenser-feeder/ko" for Korean), ensuring each language version remains unique.

| To keep your URL don’t change, you might want to leave the URL handle field empty in Transcy, or don't unblock the URL Handle to keep your URL consistent
