How to Format Currency in Transcy

Ready to fine-tune how your currencies display to customers worldwide? This guide walks you through Transcy's currency formatting features, helping you create the perfect shopping experience for each market. Important: These settings only apply to target currencies managed by Transcy. For your store's default currency, you'll need to contact Shopify support directly.

Quick Access Path:
Go to MarketsCurrencies
Select your target currency
Click the 3 dots iconEdit format

You'll see three main formatting sections:
Currency Format - Visual appearance
Exchange Rate - How prices convert
Price Rounding - How final prices display

II. Formatting Currency Display



Make your currencies look exactly how you want them! You can format:

Flag display - Show country flags with currencies
Currency name - Full name (e.g., "US Dollar")
Currency symbol - Symbol display (e.g., "$", "€")
Currency code - Three-letter code (e.g., "USD", "EUR")

III. Managing Exchange Rates



Transcy gives you two flexible options for handling exchange rates:


Updates daily using reliable market data
Based on GMT+7 timezone
Uses trusted third-party financial services
Perfect for most stores - set it and forget it!
Auto exchange rate which use Transcy's service from a 3rd-party provider

Set your own custom rates
Full control over pricing
Great for specific business needs

💡 Important Notes:

Reset to Default restores all settings and switches to auto exchange rates
Auto rates update daily based on current market conditions
You cannot change exchange rates for your default currency
USD serves as the base currency for all conversions

IV. Setting Up Price Rounding



Control exactly how your converted prices appear to customers:

No Rounding


The converted price will be displayed exactly as calculated without rounding.

Rounding Rules


Decimal places: Choose how many numbers after the decimal point
Rounding method:
Always round up
Always round down
Follow standard math rules (recommended)

Set all prices to end with specific decimals (like .99 or .00)
Great for consistent, professional pricing

Note: You'll need to format each currency individual - we have not supported to edit multiple currencies at once.

V. Additional Global Settings



At the top of your currency page, you'll find two helpful global options:

Show original price on hover - Let customers see the original price when they hover over converted prices
Show cart page notifications - Display helpful currency info on the cart page
