It's important to note that the comprehensive "search bar" is available exclusively for subscribers on the Regional plan and higher. If you do not see the "search bar" in your dashboard, it means your current plan does not include this feature. Consider upgrading to unlock this time-saving functionality, especially if you frequently need to locate and edit specific translations.

II. How to search and edit translated content in Transcy?

Step 1: Search for content you want to edit

In your Transcy dashboard, navigate to the "Translations" menu section

Click on the "Translate content" tab.

The "search bar" will be located at the top of the interface.

Afterward, you can search for the products/pages/elements/resources you want in 2 ways: by keyword or specific URL.

Search by keyword

You can search for a keyword, and the system will show matching results across all resources in your search language. You can also narrow down results by choosing a specific language and/or resource type. If the result you need isn't shown at the top, simply click "Show all results" to view the full list.

Transcy's search functionality goes far beyond basic text matching:

  • Dual Content Display: When you search for a keyword, the system displays both the original content and its corresponding translation side by side. This parallel view helps you understand context and make more informed editing decisions.
  • Smart Highlighting: Your searched keyword gets highlighted in both the original and translated content, making it easy to spot exactly where the term appears and how it's been translated.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: The search scans across all your translated content, including products, collections, pages, themes, and more, ensuring nothing gets overlooked.

Search by specific URL

You can also search using a specific URL handle from your store. This can be done right from the start or after running a keyword search. Just enter the URL handle into the input box to quickly filter and find the exact resource you're looking for.

Search by specific URL

Note: The search system automatically excludes results from blocked elements, ensuring you only see content that's actually translatable and relevant to your store's customer experience.

Tips: If the search bar is not available, you can still find translations by browsing by resource type, such as Products, Collections, etc. There's also a search tool in the "Edit translation" section.

Alternative Navigation Method: For users without access to the advanced search bar, Transcy provides alternative navigation methods:

→ Go to "Translation" menu Transcy→ In "Manage translations" section navigate to "Translate content" → Open "Edit translation" by clicking the Pencil icon in a specific resource row.

You will see a search tool in the editing interface for more targeted searches within specific resource types.

Resource Selection: Browse translations by selecting corresponding resource types such as:

  • Products: All product-related translations including titles, descriptions, and variants
  • Collections: Collection names, descriptions, and metadata
  • Pages: Static pages, blog posts, and custom content
  • Theme Elements: Navigation, footers, and template content

Step 2: Edit translated content

Manually edit content for a specific page

The search results are filtered to show only translatable content. Once you have located the content you want to change, you can click on it to open the editing interface.

Editing Options Available:

  • Self-input: This method allows you to type in your own translation manually. The provided source text does not contain additional details on how to use this feature.

  • Translate with engine: This option likely uses an AI or machine translation engine to generate a new translation for the content. The provided source text does not contain additional details on how to use this feature.

The search results are filtered to show only translatable content. Once you have located the content you want to change, you can click on it to open the editing interface, then input the change and click "Save".

Bulk edit your translations (replace)

Another benefit of the advanced search bar is that it helps you quickly find and filter the exact text you want to update. For example, if you need to change a word across multiple places, just search for it in the search bar and then use the "Replace feature" to update it in bulk.

Bulk Replace Process:

When you click "Replace the '_' for all items", a Replace Content pop-up will appear. Simply enter the new text in your default language, select the resource and language you want it applied to, then click "Apply" to save your changes.
