How to Use OpenAI Translation with Transcy
Transcy not only supports translation through Google, DeepL, Baidu, or Gemini but also offers high-quality language translation via OpenAI service. I. Translating with OpenAI WITHOUT API Key
1. Supported Subscription Plans
OpenAI translation without API key is available on all paid plans of Transcy. However, using this tool will have a additional costs 1$ for 1000 words translated.
2. How to Activate and Use
To start using OpenAI translation without an API key:
- Go to the Translation section in the Transcy app
- Select the content sources you need to translate
- Click on the "OpenAI" icon
3. Payment Methods
Transcy provides three payment methods for OpenAI translation service:
- * Top-up: Simply enter the amount you want to add to your balance. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding words and it will be automatically deducted from your wallet.
- * Usage charge: Pre-approve a maximum fee (cap), allowing the application to automatically deduct charges when you use features subject to Usage Charge without requiring payment confirmation for each translation.
- * One-time payment: Available only for Yearly plan users. You'll need to pay per translation. The system will automatically count the words and display the corresponding price.
You can configure these payment methods in Account & Settings → Localization settings tab.
II. Translating with OpenAI WITH API Key
1. Subscription Requirements
OpenAI translation with API key is only available for Premium plan and above.
2. How to Get an API Key from OpenAI
To obtain an API key from OpenAI, follow these steps:
- Access https://platform.openai.com/apps
- Select API
- Choose Setting → Limit
- Check if your rate limit is from Tier 1 (gpt-4-turbo) and above
- Important note: Transcy only supports gpt-4-turbo model and above
- If you're currently on the Free plan (gpt-3.5-turbo), you'll need to upgrade your rate limit to Tier 1
- Go back to the API tab and select Create a new secret key
- Copy the key to use in Transcy
3. How to Configure and Use API Key in Transcy
After obtaining the API key, you need to configure it in Transcy:
- Go to Account menu → Localization setting
- Enter your API key from OpenAI into the corresponding field
- Select your preferred Tone of translation's voice
- Click Save to store your settings
Once configured, you can use OpenAI service to translate languages:
- Navigate to Manage translation
- Select your target language and relevant pages
- Click the Translate button
- Choose Translate by OpenAI to begin the translation process
