I. Understanding Plan Changes

When you're ready to scale your global business or need to adjust your budget, changing your Transcy plan is straightforward. Here's what you need to know about the two types of plan changes:

UPGRADE

DOWNGRADE

Downgrading works differently depending on your billing cycle:

• Annual subscribers: Your new plan activates when your current annual cycle ends

• Monthly subscribers: Changes take effect immediately after downgrading

Your translations stay safe! All your translated content and manual edits are preserved when you downgrade, though you can only publish languages within your new plan's limits.

II. What Changes When You Downgrade

1. Global to Cross-Border Plan

When moving from Global to Cross-Border, you'll still have powerful features but with these adjusted limits:

• Product translation: Up to 1,500 products (instead of unlimited)

• Editable languages: Up to 20 languages (instead of 147)

• Glossary rules: Up to 500 custom rules (instead of unlimited)

• Automate translation: 200 products, 200 collections, 200 other pages (instead of unlimited)

• Use your image: 100 products, 100 collections, 100 other pages (instead of unlimited)

• Target currencies: Up to 50 currencies (instead of 168)

• Custom switcher templates: Maximum 9 templates (instead of unlimited)

2. Cross-Border to Continental Plan

Moving to Continental plan gives you these core features with smart limits:

• Editable languages: Up to 10 target languages (instead of 20)

• Target languages total: Up to 15 languages (instead of 50)

• Product translation: Up to 300 products per language (instead of 1,500)

• Glossary rules: 200 custom translation rules (instead of 500)

• Automate translation: 50 products, 50 collections, 50 other pages (instead of 200 each)

• Use your image: 50 products, 50 collections, 50 other pages (instead of 100 each)

• Target currencies: Up to 15 currencies (instead of 50)

• Custom switcher templates: Maximum 6 templates (instead of 9)

Smart data protection: If you've set up more than the allowed limits in Cross-Border, don't worry! Your configurations are saved, but new additions are blocked until you're within limits. Previously published pages return to unpublished status and need republishing according to your new plan limits.

Example scenario: You had 100 product pages set up for image replacement in Cross-Border. After downgrading to Continental, those 100 pages remain in your list but you can't add more. All previously published pages become unpublished and you can republish up to 50 according to Continental plan limits.

3. Continental to Regional Plan

Regional plan focuses on essential international features:

• Editable languages: Up to 2 languages (instead of 10)

• Target languages total: Up to 3 languages (instead of 15)

• Product translation: Up to 200 products per language (instead of 300)

• Target currencies: Up to 3 currencies (instead of 15)

• Glossary rules: 20 custom rules (instead of 200)

• Automate translation: 10 products, 10 collections only (instead of 50 each, other pages excluded)

• Use your image: 10 products, 10 collections only (instead of 50 each, other pages excluded)

• Auto language switching: Not available

• Geolocation settings: Not available

• Custom switcher templates: 3 templates maximum (Classic style only, instead of 6 with all styles)

Template preservation: Your current active switcher stays live even if it's Modern style, and you can customize it. However, you can only create new Classic style templates.

4. Regional to Local Plus Plan

Local Plus plan gives you focused single-market expansion tools:

• Editable languages: 1 language only (instead of 2)

• Target languages total: 1 language only (instead of 3)

• Product translation: 100 products (instead of 200)

• Target currencies: 1 currency only (instead of 3)

• Glossary function: Not available (instead of 20 rules)

• Automate translation: Not available

• Use your image: Not available

• Daily sync: Not available

• Schedule sync: Not available

• Custom switcher templates: 1 template maximum (Classic style only)

• Edit translation: Limited resources only (Metafield, Notifications, Packing slip excluded)

5. Local Plus to Free Plan

Free plan gives you a taste of Transcy's power:

• Editable languages: None (1 non-editable language only)

• Manual translations: Kept for 90 days, then automatically deleted

• Product translation: Not available

• Third-party app integration: Disabled

• Currency features: Basic only (1 currency, no formatting)

• Geolocation settings: Not configurable

• Auto-switch currency: Disabled

• Multilingual SEO: Not available

• Remove Transcy logo: Not available

• Template management: Default template only, no customization

• Agent support: Not available

Great news! You can expand any plan's capabilities by purchasing additional resource quotas for:

• Machine translation for more products

• Automate translation for more pages

• Use your image for more content

• AI Translate Image for more image translations

• Glossary for more custom rules

Custom plan example:

You're on Regional plan ($29/month) with 200 product translation limit, but have 500 products. You purchase an additional 1000 product quota for $7.90/month, creating a custom plan with 1200 product capacity.

If you later downgrade back to original Regional plan, your limit returns to 200 products. The app will prioritize translating your newest 200 products (products 1001 - 1200 in your list).

Smart resource management: When downgrading from custom plans, Transcy automatically unpublishes excess resources based on usage history (oldest first) to match your new plan limits.
