FAQ: I translated the content in Transcy but my storefront still shows the original language

You translated a piece of content under Content Translation, saved it, and the live page still shows the original language. Your translation is safe — it is stored and you do not need to redo it.

Why this happens

Transcy always gives your saved translation priority on the storefront. Alongside it, the "3rd-party app" function translates the page automatically as it loads, which is what covers text coming from other apps on your store — text that never reaches Transcy's editor.

Transcy and your theme both act on the same page while it loads. On some stores their code can conflict, and when that happens the automatic layer may end up showing instead of the translation you saved.

Neither side can rule this out completely, and it is not an outcome anyone wants. What we can do is put it right where it appears — the two options below are how.

If you are running another translation app on this store, turn it off first. Two translation apps will compete over the same text, and neither our team nor theirs can tell whose translation is on the page. We do not recommend running two translation apps at the same time under any circumstances.

Two ways to fix it

Option 1 — Turn off "3rd-party app" for that language

→ Transcy → Market management → Languages → the 3-dot menu on that language → turn off "3rd-party app"

Every place that has a translation saved in Transcy will then show that translation on your storefront, guaranteed.

The trade-off: content that comes from other apps on your store cannot be translated any more. That content is not stored in Shopify, so it never syncs into Transcy's editor, and the automatic layer was the only thing translating it. After turning this off, it will display in its original language.

Choose this when you manage your translations in Transcy yourself and do not depend on automatic translation for app content.

Option 2 — Send us the places where it happens

Our support team can make the automatic layer leave a specific piece of content alone, so your saved translation shows there while everything else stays translated.

Your report goes to our support queue, and during our support hours a team member picks it up and applies the fix. We can only cover the places you send us, so please report them as you come across them. Thank you for bearing with us on this.

What to send us

For each place where the wrong text appears:

  1. The page link — the public storefront URL, in the affected language
  2. A screenshot showing the text on the page
  3. What it should say — your saved translation

One clear example per location is worth more than a general description.
