FAQ: What is "Language migration needed"?
If your translation content is grayed out or you're blocked from editing translations and can't click on anything in "Content translation" section. This is because you are facing a "Language migration needed" pop-up warning. This happens when your Shopify store has more languages than your Transcy plan allows. Here's how to fix it quickly.

What's Causing This?
Your Shopify store has more languages than your current Transcy plan supports for editing.
Example: Your Regional plan with Transcy allows 2 editable languages, but Shopify has 6 languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French).
How to Fix It

Migrate and Enable Manual Editing
• You have to upgrade to a higher plan to fully synchronize these languages from Shopify to Transcy. Because higher plans allow you to have more languages (Editable language) to edit translations
• Requirement: Upgrade to a higher plan for more editable languages
For example: You have more than 6 languages and your Regional plan only support 2 editable languages. You need to upgrade to Continental, which support 10 editable languages. And the issue resolved easily
Migrate and Disable Manual Editing
• You need to disable "Editable languages" and select which languages you want to keep editable based on your current plan. Our system will then synchronize with your Shopify store
• Requirement: you may need to remove languages directly from Shopify markets, to remove a language in Shopify, follow these steps:
- Go to your Shopify Admin → Settings → Languages
- Find the language "Published" you want to remove.
- Click the "..." (three dots) next to that language and select "Unpublish."
- After unpublishing, scroll down and navigate to language have status "Not published ," click the "..." next to the language, and select "Remove language" to delete it completely.
This will permanently delete all translations for that language from your store
