FAQ: Why you see status Untranslated vs Partly-Translated

Seeing "Untranslated" or "Partly-Translated" status in your dashboard? Don't worry - this is normal and there are simple solutions depending on how you want to handle your translations. Let's help you choose the right approach.

I. What Do These Status Mean?

"Untranslated" - Content hasn't been translated yet

"Partly-Translated" - Some content is translated, but other parts are still missing

These statuses appear when you're using Editable languages and haven't completed translations for all content elements.

II. How Do You Want to Handle Translations?

Before fixing these statuses, it's important to decide your translation approach:

• Do you prefer everything to be automatically translated?

→ Choose the solution Translation Automation if you want a hands-off approach and don't mind translation work

• Do you want to edit translations yourself manually?

→ Choose the solution Manual Translation Control if you want control over translation quality and brand voice

III. Solution for Translation Automation (Hands-Off Approach)

If you want automatic translation without manual edit translation:

→ Go to "Markets""Languages"

→ Select your target language

→ Click the "..." menu

→ Turn on "3rd-party app"

Once enabled "3rd-party translation", you don't need to worry about translation statuses anymore, Transcy will automatically translate all content for that language.

IV. Solution for Manual Edit Translation Control

If you prefer to edit or review translations manually:

→ Follow "Translation" → "Translate content" to review and edit each piece of content

→ Looking for "Untranslated" and "Partly-Translated" resources

→ Filter the resources inside by click on "Edit translation" (a pencil icon)

→ Select the resources you want to edit and translate again these resources

You'll have complete control over how your content appears in each language, but it requires more hands-on work.

V. Which Approach Should You Choose?

Choose Automatic Translation if:

  • You want to save time and effort
  • You're comfortable with translation automation quality
  • You have many languages to manage

Choose Manual Edit Translation if:

  • Brand voice and accuracy are critical
  • You have specific terminology or tone requirements
  • You prefer to review translations before they go live
